From rolling stock, signalling and telecommunications, to civil engineering, power systems and fleet operations, we provide clients across the rail industry with expertise and cutting-edge engineering to help improve the safety, quality and performance of the world's rail systems.
From day one, you'll be part of a high-calibre team, working alongside more than 450 engineers and technical specialists based across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, who support some of the industry’s most high-profile projects.
For example, we are currently supporting projects such as Crossrail in London, Etihad Rail in the United Arab Emirates, the Taiwan High Speed Rail, the Beijing Metro and the Danish network's conversion to ERTMS – the largest signalling replacement project Europe has ever seen.
It's a rich and varied remit, which is why we are always looking for high-calibre rail engineers to join our growing teams throughout the world.
Who we recruit
Within our teams are those with many years’ experience within the rail sector. These are technical specialists who rank amongst the best in the world within their field – experts who understand the industry’s traditions, structures and idiosyncrasies every bit as much as the standards and operational practices that underpin it.
But we also have colleagues whom we have attracted to the industry from government, academia, science and development – people who can bring us skills, practices and original thinking from other walks of life.
And when combined with the expertise of colleagues within the Ricardo group who support our other sector interests – motorsports, clean energy and power engineering, for example – we can offer our clients a level of technical insight and innovation that few of our competitors can match.
Why join us?
As a member of our specialist team, we can offer you:
- Opportunities to work on a range of exciting projects, including some of the largest and most technically challenging rail systems in the world
- The chance to learn and collaborate with like-minded peers
- Training and professional development tailored to your career needs and aspirations
- World-class facilities to support you in delivering projects to the best of your ability
- Opportunities to work abroad on short and long-term assignments
