What do you look forward to at work?
Ricardo is full of fantastic people. My team is supportive and very passionate about the sector we work in (Agriculture). Even though we can’t see each other in person at the moment, we do catch up regularly over Teams. I’m also very fortunate because I really like my job and feel that I am being played to my strengths. I get to manage several projects and I enjoy the variety this brings with it.
What makes you want to stay at Ricardo?
The support from the organisation, the people and the projects I’m involved in.
What does your average day here look like?
Busy! A mixture of meetings and catching up with my team, delivering projects and bidding for new opportunities.
What motivates you to go above and beyond at Ricardo?
I’m passionate about my projects and like to do a good job for my team, our clients and the wider reputation of the organisation.
If you had to describe Ricardo as an animal, what would it be and why?
Haha - I'd say an elephant because they have a long life, leave a legacy in the herd and are resilient, as we have been over the years.
Are you proud to work for Ricardo? Why?
Yes, very much so. Because I feel like we are actually making a difference, helping to raise awareness of environmental issues and finding practical solutions that can really change peoples understanding and behaviour.
If Ricardo were to have a theme song, what would it be and why?
Hmm, that’s a tough one. Maybe the Captain Planet theme tune?!
How have you been able to develop your career since joining Ricardo?
When I started as a graduate back in 2008, I was uncertain what path my career might take, but I’ve had guidance, support and challenge from colleagues and from leadership, all of which has allowed me to develop my skills and get involved in work that I am really proud to be part of.
Ricardo’s mission statement is to Create A World Fit For The Future – what does that world look like to you?
Sustainability is top of everyone’s agenda, supporting local food producers and eating seasonally, and seeing reduced waste and pollution.
