Read below to find out more about Joe's journey at Ricardo.
What do you look forward to at work?
As an engineer at heart, I look forward to solving technical problems, particularly when the project at hand has a social purpose.
What makes you want to stay at Ricardo?
The opportunity to work on prestigious energy and climate-change-related projects. I work on large-scale UK Government programmes and have worked for major international non-governmental organisations.
Is there a single feature of working here that has exceeded your expectations?
There is a nice feel to the organisation. By that I mean it genuinely cares about the wellbeing of its employees and that employees are interested in what they do. It is not a super corporate environment in which employees are just there for the money, hate their jobs and are worked to death.
Are you proud to work for Ricardo? Why?
Yes, Ricardo has a rich engineering heritage dating back to its founder Harry Ricardo, one of the leading thinkers behind the internal combustion engine. That heritage, coupled with the industry-leading energy and environmental division, makes me proud to work for this company.
If Ricardo were to have a theme song, what would it be and why?
I thought about choosing something deep and meaningful here, but then I thought work doesn’t have to be all serious, its also about doing something you enjoy. Therefore, my song choice would be Let’s Dance by David Bowie.
