Ricardo Motorcycle provide Product Development Services to the global Motorcycle and Powersports industries, working with some of the biggest brands. Products include all types of motorcycles, from scooters to sports bikes and heavyweight cruisers, jet-skis, snowmobiles, and off-road 2 and 4 wheelers. Powertrains range from small single cylinder petrol engines, multi-cylinder highly-tuned engines, to electric and hybrid propulsion systems.

We have experts focused on all areas of the product development process, from up-front business case studies, new product concept and styling, vehicle and powertrain engineering, design, analysis and simulation, to practical development and approval testing.

About the Scheme

We are seeking Graduate and Design Engineers to help us grow in all areas of our business. Our engineering teams are responsible for the design, development and validation testing for a wide range of vehicles. Successful candidates will work closely alongside an experienced technical-expert mentor, to design and develop a variety of vehicle components and systems. From day 1 you will be an integrated member of the close-knit project team, fully participating in all team activities, including client discussions and design reviews.

Successful candidates will have achieved a minimum 2:1 Mechanical Engineering degree and ideally a PhD, MSc, MEng or BEng to work as part of a multi-national and multi-discipline team. We are looking to recruit self-motivated, proactive engineers with a strong desire to work within the motorcycle & powersport industry, demonstrated through work experience or outside interest. A practical approach to problem solving, ability to communicate your ideas, and determination to deliver quality engineering to our customers are highly desirable attributes. 

We will also consider candidates who have undertaken relevant work experience and have a second European language. Evidence of interest in the following would be an advantage:
- Motorsport
- Restoration Projects
- Formula Student 

Initially the roles would be based at our Leicestershire Technical Centre, with opportunities to travel to other Ricardo Technical Centres and Client Design and Manufacturing Centres around the world.
