Ricardo Energy & Environment offers apprenticeships in a number of disciplines across the organisation. Our current apprenticeships are operating in the areas of business administration, finance (AAT) and laboratory technician work (applied science).
We advertise our apprenticeship vacancies on our vacancies webpage, the websites of the selected college provider and through the Government apprenticeships website at https://www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/apprenticeshipsearch. Selected applicants will usually be invited to a half day assessment centre, involving interviews and tests, and will also be given the chance to look around the organisation.
Key features of our apprenticeship scheme include the allocation of a team leader to work closely with the apprentice and a ‘buddy’ to support our apprentices in their early days with the organisation. On the job training will be provided, as well as the college training arranged through the training provider. We also involve our apprentices in our quarterly Young Professional’s Programme which provides training in skills such as communication, disciplined performance and business sense. We also link our apprentices in with other apprenticeship networks where available – for example, for those apprentices based in Harwell, they are involved in a quarterly apprenticeship network meeting gathering together apprentices from across Harwell campus.
