Zero-tolerance

I want Ricardo Energy & Environment to be a great place to work for all our colleagues. Many tell me it is, but this is not an area where I want to sit back and relax. As we learn more about each other, as our business grows and as we become more diverse, we need to review whether our culture and our leadership messages still work for us. If we need to evolve our policies to make sure we remain a great place to work, then we will.

As an organisation based on innovation and collaboration, we must trust those around us with our thoughts and ideas. We must be professional and respectful when others express their ideas and suggestions too. Our wellbeing, particularly our mental wellbeing, relies on us having strong relationships, based on trust and respect. This is why our inclusion agenda is so important to us. We want colleagues to come to work and feel able to be their authentic selves, and confident when providing perspectives. The fact that we have signed the Race at Work Charter, the Menopause Pledge and we are accredited as being a ‘Disability Confident’ employer under the Disability Confident Scheme demonstrates our commitment to our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) goals.

We must be an organisation where people feel free and able to speak up, hence my commitment to our business is that we are vigilant and want to provide all with complete reassurance that we have zero-tolerance to harassment, bullying or discrimination. On behalf of our Senior Leadership Team, I want all colleagues to know that we are here and ready to listen and offer support in whatever way we can.
