The office is located in, the centre of the Capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has excellent access to the large number of private & public-sector clients based in the city and all of the associated amenities offered by a large modern City in the Middle East.

The King Fahd Rd, Al Olaya District office location has been active over 5 years and is largely utilised as a ‘Project Office’.  A number of the technical teams that have delivered projects in the KSA have done so largely by being based in our clients’ offices in Riyadh and utilising our office as a supplementary location if required.

A small number of local employees are based in the office with the vast majority of the technical team members travelling to the region from elsewhere to deliver project tasks.  A number of long term projects in region have necessitated multi-year and long-term commitment from delivery teams.

The office is located within approximately 30mins of our sister company (Ricardo Rail) offices where six employees are currently based, or at associated client project offices in Aruba.  Ricardo Rail also has other regional offices located at Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha in Qatar. Our team have a close relationship within the office and our clients which enables visiting colleagues to fully experience the culture and business aspects of this modern and vibrant city outside of work.

You will have the opportunity to work and socialise with both our ‘local’ team members and also with other expatriate office based technical staff that have worked in the region for short periods of time over a longer duration.

Commute

The office location is very central and can be accessed from most parts of the City with 30-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Regular taxi services are available and relatively inexpensive within the City. Competition is also good with a number of international transportation apps/companies active in Riyadh as well as the standard city taxis. 

An extensive modern metro service comprising 87 stations and constituting 176Km of six-line driverless metro lines is currently being constructed and is due for completion by 2019/20. King Khalid International and Domestic Airport terminals are co-located approximately 1 hour from the City centre and provide good International and Domestic connections. Jeddah and Dammam can be reached by air within approximately 1-2 hours.   Other Middle East destinations such as Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) and Oman are also easily accessible by air from Riyadh within 1-2hours.

The City centre location provides easy access and connectivity to a large number of the Business locations such as the Financial District and Public Sector Ministries & Agencies including those located at the Diplomatic Headquarters – DQ at Al Safarat, MOMRA, Civil Defence Authority etc.

There are a small number of sports clubs are located within the City

Most of the hotels provide good access to sports and gym facilities either as part of your stay or on a daily use/’pay as you go’ basis.

The office location provides an excellent location for retail with a number of shopping malls (both food and clothing) being located within walking and a short taxi drive away.

The Al Olaya district and Thalia Street in particular offer extensive opportunities for fast food and more conventional dining experiences with a wide and diverse range of international cuisines available to suite all tastes and price ranges.

Rental costs and or property prices vary enormously depending on location within the City, type of accommodation sought and the facilities that you expect to be co-located with where you want to live. 

The majority of properties for rent are flats which are a more affordable option. There are also ‘villa’ type properties in the city that are primarily in a residential area or gated community to rent that are at a higher price range.

The City is serviced by a large number of small ‘local’ hotels and also arrange of international hotel brands to suit all budgets.  The quality and prices can vary significantly as can the proximity to good facilities.  A number of these properties also offer the potential to seek a longer term let usually on a six-month or annual, single payment basis, or on shorter rentals terms subject to negotiation and agreement.
