The Sheffield office is currently home to three technical specialists who cover diverse fields of water quality, water resources, WFD, geomorphology, GIS, environmental statistics and catchment modelling.

Our office is located in a large, old and characterful office building in the Broomhill suburbs of Sheffield and is not too far from the university and hospital. We share the building with a range of other local companies and the surrounding area is mostly residential housing on verdant and leafy avenues.

Sheffield commute

Commute

Within Sheffield:

The commute greatly depends on where you live. It ranges from a few minutes locally to up to half an hour from the outskirts of the city. Car, foot, bike or bus are the main transport options.

Sheffield has a good tram network, however this mostly serves the city centre and outskirts. The nearest tram stop to the office is at the University of Sheffield on Upper Hanover Street, roughly 1.9km from the office (about a 10-15-minute walk).

From Chesterfield:

Car: 45-60 mins.

Bus: 45-60 mins (with a 15 minute walk from the nearest stop).

Train: 20 mins (followed by a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride).

From Leeds:

Car: 55-70 mins.

Train: 70 mins (followed by a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride).

From Barnsley:

Car: 25-40 mins.

Bus: 60 mins (followed by a 15 minute walk from the nearest stop).

Train: 15 mins (followed by a 25 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride).

Site information

Our office is located inside Redlands Business Centre on Tapton House Road, just off the A57. There is free parking in the car park behind the building (off Oak Park) and there is also parking on Tapton House Road itself (though this can be busy during the day).

There are many websites that suggest things to do in Sheffield. The ones we recommend are http://www.welcometosheffield.co.uk/visit/useful-info/maps-and-guides and https://www.lonelyplanet.com/england/yorkshire/sheffield as they provide good overviews.

We are a 5-minute walk from Broomhill high street and a 10-minute walk from Crookes high street. There are a number of food shops, supermarkets, boutique shops etc. in both areas. We are also only a 15-minute bus ride from the centre of Sheffield. The office is close to numerous other amenities including excellent day nurseries and schools, museums, large parks and the botanical gardens. It is also just a 5-10-minute drive to the outskirts of the Pennines!
